In October 2015 Dr. Christopher Moore and research assistant Owen Godfrey of the UOW School of Arts, English and Media recreated in virtual reality (VR) the Stone Room from the Yellow House, circa 1971. They utilised the development software Unreal Engine 4 and Oculus Rift VR viewing technology. In the creation of the virtual space they had referenced resources from the UOW Library collections, including copies of contemporary photographs by Greg Weight, original floor plans, and video and oral history testimony by the artists involved. The following video reveals the results of this research project.
The Virtual Yellow House, 2016. A virtual recreation of the Yellow House art gallery space in Potts Point Sydney, created by Australian counter culture artists Martin Sharp in the 1970s. Video and simulation created by Owen Godfrey @Cider3DPrinter. 4 February 2016. Duration: 1.01 minutes.
